UPDATE: A doctor was shot at the El Paso VA Healthcare System and the shooter reportedly shot himself, according to the local El Paso Times. The hospital system is near Fort Bliss.
An active shooter situation is underway at Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas. Confirmation has been received from a military spokesman that a search is currently underway on the West Texas fort, according to the Associated Press (AP).
Shortly before 4 P.M. MST, the Army reported an “active shooter” at the William Beaumont Army Medical Center in El Paso, according to the AP report.
Breitbart Texas spoke with MSgt. Joel Peavy at Fort Bliss. He stated they will not be releasing any additional information until a press conference that is currently scheduled for 5 P.M. MST.
Fort Bliss spokesman Gil Telles confirmed the information. He said they currently have no information on casualties or arrests at this time. The entire hospital and the veteran’s facility next door are on lockdown.
