Lieutenant Colonel Oliver North (USMC Ret) will head up a star-studded event at one of the biggest Republican political events of the year, the Denton County GOP Lincoln-Reagan Dinner. Colonel North will be joined on the stage by Texas Governor Greg Abbott and Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick along with newly elected Republican Party of Texas (RPT) Chairman Tom Mechler. State Senator Jane Nelson (R-Flower Mound) will emcee the evening’s event which is usually the top attended Republican fund-raising event of the year.

“We are excited to welcome Governor Abbott to our annual Lincoln-Reagan event.” stated Denton County Republican Party Chairman Dianne Edmondson, “He truly has Texas sized accomplishments to his name both in his former role as Texas Attorney General and now leading the state as our Governor. The guests at our receptions will have a unique opportunity to visit with him and all our dinner attendees will get a chance to hear from him as the banquet begins. If you don’t already have tickets to this amazing evening, you will want to reserve yours today!”

Senator Nelson will be guiding the attendees through an evening of great speakers. Former RPT Chairman Steve Munisteri will be on-hand to deliver a farewell talk as he officially handed over the reins of the nation’s largest Republican state party to Mechler less than one week ago. Mechler is making the rounds of this gigantic state to get to know more of the grass roots leaders of Texas who enabled this party to fend off a strong challenge from the Democrat’s Battleground Texas efforts in the last election. Lt. Gov. Patrick and Gov. Abbott will speak to the packed house of GOP grassroots activists and the evening will be capped off by a keynote speech from Colonel North.

In addition to his distinguished career in the U.S. Marine Corps, North is a published author and war correspondent. He is also a news contributor for the Fox News Channel. North is the honorary chairman of the Freedom Alliance, a conservative public policy foundation which provides tuition assistance to dependents of military members who are killed or permanently disabled in the line of duty. The Colonel is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and earned the Silver Star, the Bronze Star for valor and two Purple Hearts for wounds he received in combat. While working for the National Security Council under President Ronald Reagan, North helped plan the U.S. raid on Lybia which attacked terrorist bases hosted by Muammar Qaddafi. For his efforts, he was targeted for assassination by Abu Nidal, a terrorist assassin. North also helped plan the rescue of 804 medical students in Grenada and in the rescue of hostages held by terrorists on the Achille Lauro.

As the event is a fund raising evening, this writer would be remiss in not mentioning some of the auction items that will be available for perusal and competitive bidding by the attendees. Some of the items include a “Republican Wave” quilt that was handmade and that has been signed by Republican office holders commemorating the 2014 Republican sweep of Republican officeholders; an American Sniper package including memorabilia from the record breaking movie and a flag flown over the Texas Capitol on Chris Kyle Day (including a copy of Gov. Abbott’s signed proclamation); a new DPMS AR-15 rifle and other special firearms; and Texana memorabilia signed by Land Commissioner George P. Bush and Gov. Abbott.

“The Denton County Lincoln-Reagan Dinner is always THE place to be in North Texas for a top notch political event,” Chairman Edmondson told Breitbart Texas. “Our political stars are a draw in and of themselves, but when you add to that the former and new chairs of the Republican Party of Texas, also will be attending, it’s clearly an evening not to be missed! And given the volatile situations in the Middle East, Lt. Col Oliver North’s expert remarks will be very timely and thought-provoking.”

Dinner table sponsorships and individual tickets are available now by phoning (940)383-4446 or by registering online at http://dentongop.org/lincoln-day-tickets/. Individuals or businesses wishing to donate to the live or silent auctions should contact Republican Headquarters at the same phone number.
