The Houston Rockets handed the Golden State Warriors a 128-115 loss on Memorial Day. Then the Houston Rockets organization handed each of its players a piece of paper.

“The Golden State Warriors will return to Oakland tomorrow (Tuesday, May 26) following their 4-0 series sweep of the Houston Rockets in the Western Conference Finals,” a Golden Warriors press release announced. “Media interested in shooting video of the team’s arrival are asked to arrive at Landmark Aviation at 12:30 p.m.”

The “Dewey Beats Truman,” Al-Gore-won-Florida moment followed a dominant three-game run punctuated by Golden State triumphing by 25 on Houston’s home court. So, the team, 67-15 during the regular season, can’t be faulted for confidence. It’s their cockiness that bothers James Harden, Dwight Howard, and company.

No team has ever bounced back from a 3-0 deficit to win a playoff series in NBA history. If the Rockets couldn’t find reason why they should be the first before Monday, then the media advisory in their lockers might convince them that they should make history.

The teams play Game 5 of the series at Oracle Arena in Oakland on Wednesday night.
