Monday morning, El Centro Sector Border Patrol agents apprehended fourteen suspected illegal aliens hidden in the bed of a truck that was masquerading as an Imperial Irrigation District (IID) vehicle and the truck’s driver, a U.S. citizen suspected of smuggling the foreign nationals.

An agent noticed the discrepancies in vehicle markings from known IID markings as it traveled north along Highway 111, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection. After stopping the vehicle, it became evident the driver was not an IID employee.

A border patrol detector dog aided the agent in screening the vehicle and discovering the 14 individuals hiding under a tarp in the truck bed and in the rear of the truck’s cabin.

The 23-year-old driver was arrested, and the 14 suspected illegal aliens were transported to the Calexico Border Patrol station to be processed.

Agent Guillermo Esparza told Breitbart News that the individuals will likely be returned to their home countries.
