Mexican authorities continue to look into the allegations that a daycare worker threw a two-year-old boy in her care into a container filled with boiling water that caused massive burning to the child.

Ziclady Enriquez Medrano, an employee at Paquime daycare in the town of Nuevo Casas Grandes, Chihuahua, allegedly caused second- and third-degree burns to the legs and genital area of the two-year-old child identified only as Leonardo, Mexico’s Revista Proceso reported.

Enriquez Medrano already sits in a jail in Ciudad Juarez without bond in connection with the case and, according to the Mexican publication, investigators possess video evidence that shows Enriquez taking Leonardo to the bathroom where they believe she submerged the infant into boiling water.

The reason for submerging the infant in boiling water? He soiled his diaper. The daycare worker was trying to train the boy to go to the bathroom but when the boy soiled the diaper anyways, Enriquez went into a fit of rage.
