Lubbock Mayor Glen Robertson’s Texas CD-19 campaign has been endorsed by the Border Patrol agents in the National Border Patrol Council (NBPC) of the Laredo Sector. The Laredo chapter of the NBPC, Local 2455, represents approximately 1,300 of the men and women who risk their lives securing our border in that region–a border sector that directly affects the economic future and the safety of Lubbock and District 19 as a whole. Robertson previously stunned Border Patrol agents in the NBPC when he issued the strongest statement of support for Border Patrol agents by any candidate in known history.

NBPC Local 2455 President Hector Garza released this statement to the organization’s official website:

NATIONAL BORDER PATROL COUNCIL LAREDO SECTOR ENDORSEMENT OF LUBBOCK MAYOR GLEN ROBERTSON

American communities will continue to suffer at the hands of transnational gangs, cartels and violent criminals preying on innocent Americans if the US-Mexico Border is not secured.

The lives and security of the American people are at stake, and the Laredo Sector of the National Border Patrol Council will not stand silent while career politicians pay lip service to the safety of Americans.

To that end, the Laredo Sector of the National Border Patrol Council Local 2455, the organization which represents approximately 1,300 Border Patrol Agents, is endorsing Lubbock Mayor Glen Robertson for Congress.

Unlike his opponent in the Texas Congressional District 19 race, Glen Robertson is an outsider who has created hundreds of jobs, pledged to bring about aggressive reform of our border security apparatus and common sense to our Nation’s immigration laws. Mayor Robertson is completely independent of special interests. Our country does not need a person who has the perfect Washington-approved tone, and certainly not another establishment politician.

Mayor Glen Robertson has been to the Laredo Sector of the border and has joined U.S. Border Patrol Agents in the fight to secure our borders. More importantly, he has LISTENED to field agents about their concerns with federal leadership. Mayor Robertson is a man of his word who doesn’t embrace political correctness, who doesn’t need special interest money or donations from career politicians and political operatives. Glen Robertson is pro-military and values law enforcement, and is angry that our Border Patrol agents are not being afforded the support or leadership we need to simply do our jobs. Glen Robertson will be our most effective voice in Congress.

Mayor Robertson recently toured the Laredo Sector with Agent Garza and other law enforcement personnel. Breitbart Texas’ coverage of that tour revealed that Robertson was stunned by what he learned from meeting with the agents and seeing the challenges they face daily.

(Disclosure: Breitbart Texas joined the group and assisted in organizing the tour, an offer made to all candidates in the race. Breitbart Texas sponsored the Green Line podcast for the NBPC in an effort to provide a platform for agents to inform the public about the realities on the border and what Border Patrol agents face. Director Brandon Darby received an award from the Laredo chapter of the NBPC for his work in helping to defend and bring a voice to Border Patrol agents. Breitbart News assisted in covering funeral costs for a slain Border Patrol agent previously.)
