Charlie Rangel (D, Tammany Hall), under a long-gathering ethical storm, knows the game is just about over:

It doesn’t even sound like MSNBC, asking these dumb questions.

We’ll miss Cholly, the owner of one of the great Manhattan accents, now almost extinct. But as long as we’re on the subject of how Charlie got his job in the first place…

He wrested it from Adam Clayton Powell, Jr., in the aftermath of Powell’s exclusion from the House of Representatives, forced out by his own Democrat Party for corruption after first being stripped of a powerful committee chairmanship.
