WSJ Circles Wagons: Blames Benghazi-Gate on Intelligence Community

It appears Obama surrogates in the mainstream media are circling the wagons in the days leading up to the Oct. 22 foreign policy debate.

Case in point — the Wall Street Journal’s Oct 18 report providing a smokescreen for U.S. Ambassador Susan Rice.

Written in a way that admits the Obama administration’s story did change, the report creates a caveat by suggesting the change wasn’t official until weeks after Rice appeared Sunday news shows to blame the Benghazi attack on a YouTube video.

Moreover, the WSJ report pins the changing story on the intelligence community, thereby protecting Obama along with Rice.

According to the WSJ, the “intelligence analysts were [already] receiving new information that contradicted Rice” as she spoke on Sept. 16. However, the intelligence community did not “amend” their stance for weeks thereafter.

Perhaps this will be Obama’s new tack for Oct 22 — It’s no longer Bush’s fault, but the fault of the intelligence community?
