Piers Morgan: AR-15 Rifles Make America 'Utter Wild West Hell'

During an interview with former Marine Joshua Boston Tuesday, CNN’s Piers Morgan claimed that AR-15 “assault rifles” are turning the U.S. into an “utter wild west hell.”

After Breitbart News posted the story of Corporal Boston, USMC Ret., the media picked up on it and he’s since made the rounds of Fox News, various radio shows, and recently CNN’s Piers Morgan show.

Boston had written a letter to gun-grabbing Senator Dianne Feinstein telling her “No Ma’Am,” that he would not allow his Constitutional rights to be violated by any politician.

Morgan invited Corporal Boston onto his CNN show to rail against guns. “If everybody exercises that choice and is legally allowed to do so,” he ranted, “you could end up with every movie theater and every school and every church and every shopping mall in America, with everybody armed with an AR-15 assault rifle and magazines that could kill 100 people in a minute.

“Where does that lead America to,” he exclaimed, “other than utter Wild West hell?”

Of course, the AR-15 is wholly legal and has been around for many years and we don’t have that problem now. In fact, according to the FBI, more Americans have been murdered with hammers and clubs than with rifles. For that matter, auto deaths exceed that of gun deaths by three times.

While the mass killings perpetrated in this country are nothing to dismiss, the so-called “gun crisis” that anti-Constitutionalists like Morgan are railing about is based on nothing but fearmongering. Crimes rates have been steadily decreasing, with the FBI reporting that crime rates have reached a 40-year low. It seems the only places where “gun crime” is increasing is in cities like Chicago that already have some of the strictest gun control laws in the nation.

Once again, we see the ill-informed blather coming from Piers Morgan, nonsense that doesn’t help clarify or inform on the debate of the day.
