EXCLUSIVE: Zimmerman Brother: Capus' Resignation a 'Relief'

Today, Breitbart News spoke with Robert Zimmerman Jr., brother of George Zimmerman, the man who shot Trayvon Martin and was then slandered as a racist by Steve Capus’ NBC News. Reacting to Capus’ resignation from NBC News, Zimmerman pointed out that Capus is mentioned in the family’s lawsuit, and then added that Capus leaving was a “relief, because it may indicate that going forward, media outlets are going to report with a greater measure of responsibility.”

He continued:

There are very real consequences to what media outlets report. In the case of NBC, when there was no racial inflection in any of George’s actions or words, they went as far as to fabricate it, as the lawsuit alleges. So going forward again, there needs to be a different way not just that this story is covered, but any story where race is alleged to be a factor or possibly be a factor, because if the media’s not more careful, their actions and their reporting ends up dividing us instead of bringing us together around the truth.
