Within minutes of the Supreme Court striking down a key (and outdated) provision of the Voting Rights Act Tuesday, the media was already setting its narrative against the GOP. NBC’s Chief White House correspondent, Chuck Todd, came out first and with guns blazing on MSNBC:

Keep in mind that this is all part of a larger Narrative the media are building in the hopes of doing two things…
1. Shame, badger, and bully the “do-nothing” GOP Congress into passing Obama’s agenda, especially when it comes to creating millions of new Democrats through immigration reform.
2. Toxify the GOP Congress in the hopes that Democrats will win back the House next year and give Obama another opportunity to continue his transformation of America. This will also help to put an end to the scandal investigations and effectively give Obama a third term.

Throughout the media we see and will continue to see the media put the onus and spotlight on the GOP in this way, and at every opportunity. This partisan tactic keeps Republicans on defense, puts the blame on them, and dishonestly assumes that our government doing nothing is doing nothing and a bad thing.
The media are desperate to resurrect Obama and to let him finish his work. And today’s Supreme Court decision not only gives the media another opportunity to further an anti-GOP Narrative crafted months ago; it also allows them to bring race into it — which we can expect to see a lot of in the coming months.
Race is the perfect Democrat turn-out machine, especially during the midterms.
