Liberal blogger Ezra Klein loves to visit the White House, and the White House appears more than willing to open the door.
Since 2009, Klein’s name appears in the White House visitor logs 27 times, according to a search of the records.
The latest visit recorded in the records was December 12, 2013 — while Klein was creating a brand new explanatory news and policy website which would become Vox Media.
According to the visitor logs, Klein has traveled to the White House eight times to meet President Obama and has met with a myriad of other White House officials.
The names in the records include:
- Lawrence Summers, Former Director of the National Economic Council
- Ali Zaidy, a member of the White House Domestic Policy Council
- Jared Bernstein, the Chief Economist and Economic Adviser to Vice President Joe Biden.
- David Axelrod, former White House Senior Political Advisor
- Austan Goolsbee, former Chief Economist for the President’s Economic Recovery Advisory Board.
- Gene Sperling, former Director of the White House National Economic Council
- Jack Lew, former Obama Chief of Staff – now Secretary of the Treasury
- Antoinette Rangel, Deputy Director of Hispanic Media
- Jamie Smith, Former Deputy Press Secretary
- Jason Furman, Chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers
- Hannah Hankins, White House Press Assistant
- Dag Vega, Director of Broadcast Media.
- Herbert Ziskend, former luggage handler and Obama staffer party host
