Flashback: CNN's Costello Calls For Suspension of ESPN Analyst Over Domestic Abuse Comments

After sadistically mocking audio of Bristol Palin reporting an assault to the police, CNN’s Carol Costello issued only a terse statement of apology through CNN. She said nothing in the way of an apology on the same airwaves she used to tell her viewers to “enjoy” listening to Palin’s anguish, and there has been no disciplinary action. Costello was back on the air the very next day as though nothing had happened.

Contrast this with the video below from July of this year where Costello uses her CNN anchor position to sanctimoniously demand ESPN suspend Stephen A. Smith for comments he made, ironically, about the abuse of a woman.

Moreover, when Costello called for his suspension, Smith had already done something Costello refuses to do: issued an on-air apology.
