Federal Court Rules Prop 8 Unconstitutional

The 9th Circuit Court affirmed the lower court’s ruling that Proposition 8, banning gay marriage, was unconstitutional. A section of the opinion released by the court reads: ‎”Proposition 8 serves no purpose, and has no effect, other than to lessen the status and human dignity of gays and lesbians … and to officially reclassify their relationships and families as inferior … the Constitution simply does not allow for ‘laws of this sort.'”
