WI Election Officials Slam Tea Party Signature Verification Effort, Move Forward With Recalls

The Government Accountability Board (GAB) decided last month it would not accept input from the independent group, Verify the Recall, a volunteer project to run all 900,000 recall signatures against WI Gov. Scott Walker into a searchable online database after WI election officials refused to. On Monday, the GAB admitted it had taken the time to examine the group’s database, said it was riddled with errors, and then questioned why the group did not submit its findings to the GAB anyway. The GAB later voted to certify recall elections for four Republican Senators.
