Lansing Mayor Tells Union Mob 'I'm Proud Of You,' Leads Chants

The Mayor of Lansing, Michigan told the union crowd today that he thought they were “beautiful” and that he couldn’t remember a time when Lansing “looked this good.” Mayor Virg Bernero led the crowd in chants and told the union mob that he was “proud” of them. Transcript below:

“Welcome to Lansing. We are proud to have you here in our city, we welcome you with open arms. Now I’ve gotta tell you my friends, my brothers and sisters, as ashamed as I am of what went on in that building I am proud of you. As ugly as the business that was conducted in that building, you are more beautiful. Your sight, you are a sight for sore eyes. I don’t know when downtown Lansing has ever looked this good. Thank you for reminding everybody who this building and this block belongs to — it’s the people!”
