Oliver Stone: 'Arrogance' Of 'Exceptional Skill Of American Solider' Comes From Hollywood

MSNBC’s Martin Bashir interviewed Filmmaker Oliver Stone about the influence of Hollywood on the American people: “We love shock and awe. If you look at the 1990’s with “Private Ryan” we found the WWII generation again, and the great american victory at D-Day. You go into “Black Hawk Down,” you go into this new movie “Zero Dark Thirty” and it’s a celebration of that American hubris, of that American arrogance, the exceptional skill of the American soldier. That’s dangerous and that comes out of Hollywood. That would be more criticizable, I think, than satire.” Stone when on to say that Obama has even fallen into this trap when he called America “the indispensable nation.”
