Holder Gave Conflicting Statements to Congress, NPR

Attorney General Eric Holder contradicted comments he made to NPR on May 15th when he testified before Congress the same day:

“In regard to potential prosecution of the press for the disclosure of material, that is not something I’ve ever been involved in, heard of, or would think would be wise policy,” Holder told the House Judiciary Committee.

However, in an earlier interview with NPR, he appeared to claim some knowledge of investigations as he touted his rejections of warrants or subpoenas for journalists’ records: “I’m not sure how many of those cases I have actually signed off on; I take them very seriously. I know that I have refused to sign a few, pushed a few back for modifications.”
