On his Thursday radio show, conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh offered up a theory on why the FBI has cracked down on a number of high-profile Democrats, including California State Sen. Leland Yee (D-San Francisco) and former Charlotte, NC Mayor Patrick Cannon. According to Limbaugh, the FBI is acting at the behest of Democrats to remove the so-called bad apples before the 2014 midterms elections occur.
“Now folks, if this is strictly Democrats, which so far it is – we don’t yet if there are other investigations to be revealed … the FBI has been working on all of this for years – not a peep, folks,” Limbaugh said. “[I]t’s like the FBI has been working secretly behind the scenes since Obama was elected and if this sweep is strictly Democrats, which so far it is, what does that mean? What does that tell you? Does it tell you anything?”
“It is entirely possible what is going on here is the head honchos of the Democrat are basically behind an effort to take out all of their bad apples before the election,” he continued. “They’ll be old news by the time the election comes around. The timing here is obviously curious and it is really hard to believe the FBI is working against the wishes of the regime, isn’t it? So it could well be the Democrats know they have some bad apples and they’re just going to clear the decks – just get rid of all of them so when they’re opponents start talking about them, it’s old news – nothing to see here.”
