Atwater Village Strip Club Becomes Crude After Oil Spill

A burst crude oil pipeline in Atwater Village, CA sprayed 10,000 gallons of oil about a quarter past midnight on Thursday, shutting down streets, forcing the abandonment of cars, and requiring the evacuation of a strip club.

The Gentlemen’s Club in Atwater Village was evacuated after the spill left the business coated with oil. Oil did not enter The Gentleman’s Club, and nobody enjoying an establishment described on its website as “one of the most high class adult clubs in the Los Angeles area,” was injured.

None of the strip club’s patrons or workers were injured, two workers at a nearby industrial plant had to be taken to the hospital after the fumes from the oil sickened them.

The Los Angeles Fire Department estimates that clean-up of the spill could take at least 24 hours, so patrons will need to find adult entertainment elsewhere for the time being.
