Mika Brzezinski on NY Times-Abramson Gender Pay Dispute: 'I Was Not Surprised at All'

On Thursday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” co-host Mika Brzezinski reacted to the claims that outgoing New York Times editor in chief Jill Abramson ended her employee at the Times because of a pay discrepancy between her and her male counterparts at the Times.

“My instinct is to believe just given my experience in the news industry over the course of 30 years,” Brzezinski said. “I’m not talking about necessarily here but we have our own story here that we’ve written about. But that aside, that’s out there. But no, I read that. I was not surprised at all. She was very outspoken.”
