San Diego Mayor: Starting to See “Good News” with Fires

San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer told Fox News Channel’s “The Real Story” anchor Gretchen Carlson that the city’s new “reverse 911” and social media evacuation systems have made a “huge difference” in the “orderly” evacuation of residents from areas endangered by the massive wildfires in Southern California.

While he said the evacuations have gone well, Faulconer urged the public to remain “vigilant,” and said that the efforts by the public and firefighters in dealing with the disaster have been excellent.  He added that while firefighters had “a great handle on several of the fires,” and officials were “starting to see good news,” there was still “concern” over the Cocos fire in the northern part of San Diego County.
