Monday on MSNBC’s “Hardball,” Rep.Chris Van Holland (D-MD) discussed the EPA announcement earlier in the day of new regulations that will force approximately 600 existing coal-fired power plants to reduce their carbon pollution 30 percent from 2005 levels by 2030. Host Chris Matthews pressed Van Hollen to on the notion that the Republican Party is “trading the quality of life on this planet in perpetuity so their family has more money.. They’re selling the health of planet for their own economic good?”
Van Hollen agreed and responded by saying, “Maybe they deluded themselves but that’s the bottom line.”
