On Steve Malzberg’s Monday NewsMax TV show, Ret. U.S. Army Lt. Col. Ralph Peters, a Fox News strategic analyst, told host Steve Malzberg that he has never seen the amount of outrage he is seeing and hearing from his colleagues on the attempt of the Obama administration to cast U.S. Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, the recently released Taliban prisoner of war, as a hero.
Peters explained his Bergdahl’s fellow soldiers considered a deserter. According to 2012 reporting by late Rolling Stone reporter Michael Hastings, Bergdahl reportedly sent e-mails to his parents criticizing U.S. activities in Afghanistan.
