Homeland Security Cmte Chair: Send National Guard to Border

Rep. Michael McCaul (R-TX), the Chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, called for the federal government to send the National Guard to the border, and stricter enforcement of the United States and Mexico’s borders to stop the flood of unaccompanied minors into the United States.

He stated, “We can send the national guard down to provide a support role so the Border Patrol can do their job.”

McCaul also argued the government should deport the unaccompanied minors crossing the southern border, increase resources on the US-Mexico border, and work with Mexican officials to secure Mexico’s southern border.
