GOP Rep: Coyotes Seen as 'Social Workers' in Central America

Rep. Kay Granger (R-TX), who recently returned from a visit to Central America said coyotes “are looked at as social workers” in an appearance on the Fox News Channel’s “On the Record.”  “The coyotes are saying we can take you into the United States and you’ll be educated and you will be taken care of and they won’t send you back, and they are looked at as social workers because they’re helping these parents who want their children to be safer” Granger stated.

She also reported that violence is part of the reason why individuals have fled Central America for the United States, and that the presidents of Honduras and Guatemala are working to improve conditions in their countries and want to see the unaccompanied minors in the US returned home.
