Obama on Downed Flight: 'Looks Like It May Be a Terrible Tragedy'

Thursday, President Barack Obama made his first comments on the news that on the Malaysian Airlines Boeing 777 flying from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur having crashed killing all 295 passengers near the Russian-Ukraine border after early reports it was hit by a ground-to-air missile.

The president said,  “Looks like it may be a terrible tragedy.” He added the administration is “working to determine whether there were American citizens on board, that is our first priority.”
