Luis Gutiérrez: 'Republican Position Can Be Summed Up as Deport Them All'

On Friday evening from the floor of the House of Representatives, Rep. Luis Gutiérrez (D-IL) criticized his Republican colleagues for their legislation dealing with the crisis at the southern U.S. border, which involves thousands of unaccompanied minors crossing into the United States.

“In the end, the Republican position can be summed up as deport them all,” he said. “And deport them all. Most of you the approach of deport them all is nonsense and you know it is suicide as a political strategy. But you but you continue to say deport them all. Shame on those who will not stand up for the on the children of the border and the shame all those who will not stand for the neighborhoods or the communities of the children who live with us. Say no to this bill.”
