Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) said that “a lot of us” would support President Barack Obama declaring war on and increasing airstrikes against radical Islamic terrorist groups like ISIS on Thursday’s “Your World with Neil Cavuto” on the Fox News Channel.
“I think a lot of us would be willing to have a declaration of war against radical Islam, including Al Qaeda, ISIS, ISIL … all of these splinter groups” he stated. And “he won’t have to [act against ISIS unilaterally], he will have plenty of members of Congress who will support him.”
Gohmert also slammed Obama’s handling of the war on terror, arguing “he has never had a good strategy…he was going to bomb Assad a year ago. If he had done what he said he was going to do…then ISIS would have already taken over all of Syria.” He also asserted that during the Arab Spring, Obama “kept choosing to help Radical Islam,” and has “consistently chosen … to choose the side of the radical Islamists.”
