Adding to the mixed messages coming from the Obama administration over its ISIS strategy, Friday at the White House Press briefing Press Secretary Josh Earnest said ISIS has declared war on the world and President Barack Obama is leading an “international coalition” to address the ISIS threat which Earnest claimed means “we are at war with ISIL” in the same way we are with al-Qaeda.
Earnest said, “We are certainly not considering combat troops on Iraq or Syria.” But he added, “So In the same way we are at war with al Qaeda and its affiliates around the world, we are at war with ISIL. But make no mistake when I say we I’m not just talking about the United States Im talking about this broader international coalition.”
