In an appearance on CNN’s “New Day” on Monday, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) reacted to remarks from President Barack Obama that aired a day earlier on CBS in which the president blamed the intelligence community for missing the threat of ISIS.
“I’m just puzzled by the president, some of his statements, for example, he left behind a stable Iraq, all of that,” McCain said. “We predicted what would happen if we didn’t leave residual force.”
“His intelligence comments — the intelligence people are pushing back hard,” he added. “We predicted this and watched it, it was like watching a train wreck, and warning every step of the way that this was happening.”
