The cast of ABC’s “The View” discussed the recent criticisms of President Barack Obama from high-ranking Democrats, in particular former President Jimmy Carter, on their Thursday broadcast.
However, co-host Rosie O’Donnell revealed to her colleagues Nicolle Wallace, Whoopi Goldberg and Rosie Perez that it wasn’t Obama who is or was her favorite U.S. president, but instead Carter.
Partial transcript as follows:
WALLACE: Put it this way, Carter has been harsher on Obama than George W. Bush ever has been or would be.
O’DONNELL: And I think Jimmy Carter is an outlier in many ways. He’s not just a Democrat. I think he is a man of peace.
WALLACE: You love him, right? He’s one of your favorites?
O’DONNELL: He is my favorite president ever and, I think, probably, the most pious human being I’ve ever met in my life. And I have tremendous respect, admiration for him and his wife.
GOLDBERG: He’s OK.
