Hagan Agrees with Matthews: GOP Using Voter ID Laws to 'Screw' Black Voters

Monday on MSNBC’s “Hardball With Chris Matthews,” Sen. Kay Hagan (D-NC) agreed that in the words of host Chris Matthews that the Republican-endorsed voter ID laws are an attempt to “screw the black voters” in addition to suppress Democratic voter turnout.

Matthews said, “The African-Americans think they’re being targeted because they’re African-Americans — not because they’re Democrats,” Hagan replied, “I tend to agree with them.”
