FL Gov: Feds Haven't Give Us Ebola Supplies We Requested

Gov. Rick Scott (R-FL) reported that the federal government has not given the state supplies it requested to protect itself against the Ebola virus on Thursday’s broadcast of “The Laura Ingraham Show.”

“We’ve asked for testing kits from the CDC, we’ve asked for 30, they’ve given us three,” he said.  And “on the protective gear, we’ve gotten zero, we’ve been out buying our own protective gear.”

According to the Associated Press, Scott requested 100 protective suits from the federal government and has not received any.  Also, only 39 Florida hospitals have completed training on how to treat Ebola.  Florida has not had any confirmed cases of the virus, but the jet that infected nurse Amber Vinson traveled on made a stop in Ft. Lauderdale before it was taken out of service.

Scott also stated that “I’ve asked all of our hospitals to do training, I’ve asked the CDC to come in and tell me what they’ve learned from Dallas, what went wrong in Dallas and what should we being doing different[ly]?”
