Fournier: 'Very Surprised' If Democrats Hold Senate

National Journal Senior Political Columnist and Editorial Director Ron Fournier said he would be “very surprised” if Democrats hang on to their majority in the Senate on Monday’s “On the Record” on the Fox News Channel.

“We have a much better chance than not that it breaks the Republicans’ way and the Republicans win the Senate…we have a much better chance that the Republicans win the Senate, I can’t tell you exactly what states are going to break which way, but it’s hard to do this math and see a way that the Democrats hang onto the Senate, I’d be very surprised at this point” he predicted.

Fournier did say that control of the Senate might come down to runoffs in Louisiana and Georgia, but “even in those circumstances if you look at the polling right now, that favors Republicans. It just might take longer than tomorrow night.”
