Christie Claims Pivotal Role in GOP Maryland Surprise

Thursday night on Townsquare Media New Jersey 101.5 presents “Ask the Governor,” Gov. Chris Christie (R-NJ) told the story that as the Republican Governors Association chairman he just had a feeling on the Maryland governor’s race, so he borrowed money to fund that race.

Discussing Tuesday night’s long-shot victory of Republican Larry Hogan in the governor’s race of the very blue state of Maryland, Christie said, “I borrowed money to play in Maryland. I just had a sense because I’m from a state like that, I met the candidate I had been down there a number of times and I just said, you know, this ones worth the risk and i actually borrowed money to play in Maryland.”
