Ferguson-Area Resident: City Will Be ‘Ghost Town’

A Ferguson-area resident named Kelly predicted that business destroyed by looting in the area were “not going to rebuild” and Ferguson was “going to be like a ghost town pretty soon” in an interview on CNN Tuesday.

“This is crazy. I mean, the business didn’t do anything. If they were going to do something, get the right people, if they have to do it” Kelly, who CNN reported lives in Berkeley, which is right next to Ferguson, said.

She added that it was particularly upsetting “especially when I live here. I mean, that’s convenient. The auto shop is a convenience for me. But now I got to go to East Jerusalem to get an auto part when I could have just went up the street.”

Kelly concluded, “they’re not going to rebuild. It’s going to be like a ghost town pretty soon.” And that the riots had “basically” ruined the community.
