The Hill’s Cusack: Obama ‘Clearly’ ‘At Odds’ With Pentagon on Afghanistan

The Hill‘s Editor-in-Chief Bob Cusack said that President Obama has “clearly been at odds with senior leaders at the Pentagon” on Afghanistan on Friday’s “Special Report” on the Fox News Channel.

Regarding Obama’s statement that Afghanistan won’t be a source of terrorist attacks was “something he said, really off the cuff, and it could come back [to bite Obama] because the next president, whoever that is, is going to have to deal with this. And if you look at the big picture here, I mean the president has political goals and it’s ending two wars, he’s repeatedly said that, that’s what’s got him in part re-elected. But war is messy and ending them is very difficult, and he’s clearly been at odds with senior leaders at the Pentagon on this.”
