Columnist Charles Krauthammer argued that the GOP made a “huge mistake” not passing a 20-week abortion ban on Thursday’s “Special Report” on the Fox News Channel.
“There’s overwhelming, 2-to-1 support for banning abortions after 20 weeks, which would be a historic achievement with these exceptions. And the reason the bill was pulled is that some insisted on the word ‘reported’ [as a requirement that a person desiring the sexual assault exception under the law report their sexual assault], now why couldn’t you have passed it without ‘reported,’ we would have had a great, a historic change in the country, and work the reported exception later. That’s a huge mistake” he stated.
