Press Rebukes Earnest on Refusal To Call Taliban Terrorists

Thursday at the White House daily press briefing, when press secretary Josh Earnest  stood behind yesterday’s refusal to call the Taliban terrorists, saying instead the Taliban “engages in tactics akin to terrorism,” CBS News’ White House correspondent Bill Plante and NPR’s Mara Liasson pushed back hard, repeatedly interrupting  Earnest’s attempt to dodge the classification.
When Plante asked if it was because the White House negotiated with the Afghanistan Taliban to secure the release of Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, Eanest claimed the conversations with the Taliban were through the Qatar government.
