Boehner: I Didn’t Consult WH Because of Obama’s Animosity for Netanyahu

Sunday on Fox News Channel’s “Fox News Sunday,” Speaker of the House John Boehner (R-OH) said he did not consult the White House when inviting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to address Congress because President Barack Obama’s the animosity towards Netanyahu.”

When host Chris Wallace asked why the Speaker specifically asked Isreal not to discuss the visit with the White House Boehner said  “I wanted to make sure that there was no interference. There’s no secret here in Washington about the animosity that — well, this White House has for Prime Minister Netanyahu. I frankly didn’t want them getting in the way and quashing what I thought was a real opportunity.”

“We have every right to do what we did. I wanted the Prime Minister to come here,” he added, “It’s an important message that the American people need to hear. I’m glad that he’s coming. I’m looking forward to what he has to say.”
