Thursday on MSNBC’s “Hardball,” host Chris Matthews wrapped up a segment on this week’s controversy over Indiana’s and Arkansas’ “religious freedom” laws after discussing former Gov. Jeb Bush’s (R-FL) Silicon Valley walk-back from seemingly stronger support of the Indiana bill earlier in the week.
Matthews said, “Please God, give us a real choice, you can imagine voting for the other guy, besides Hillary.”
Jonathan Capehart said, “You know, what he said in Silicon Valley, I believe, is Jeb Bush’s natural instinct. That’s where he wanted — because Jeb Bush has gone way out there on immigration against his party, way out there on Common Core against his party and maybe he thought. I can’t go any further on this other issue. But if he would stay true to himself, Jeb Bush wouldn’t be in the bind that he’s in.”
Matthews replied, “I wonder if you’re all saying what I say, which is, please God, give us a real choice — you can imagine voting for the other guy, besides Hillary.”
