Carson: Gun Owners Could Have to Defend Border Against Islamic Terrorists

Friday in Nashville, TN at the 2015 NRA annual meeting, Dr. Ben Carson said we need to keep Second Amendment rights strong to defend our nation against radical extremist Islamic terrorists crossing the southern border because if, “if we have an administration that won’t fight them, we have to be able fight them themselves.”

Carson said, “Why do we have the Second Amendment? Because our founders recognized that if our nation was invaded, if our citizens had the ability to aid the military, we would be a much more formidable group of people. And that seems kinda far fetched these days, but maybe it’s not so far fetched, particularly if we don’t solidify our borders, particularly in the south.”

“We think about people from Honduras or Mexico and places like that coming in, but there are people that are watching us all over this world,” he continued. “They are called radical extremist Islamic terrorists. And they are going to get in here any way they can. And when they get here we need to be able fight them, particularly if we have an administration that won’t fight them, we have to be able fight them themselves.”
