Baltimore Mom: ‘I Don’t Want Him to Be a Freddie Gray’

On Monday cameras caught Toya Graham, a Baltimore mother, publicly admonishing her son for participating in the riots surrounding the protests of the death of Freddie Gray. The clip immediately went viral and was picked up by several news outlets.

During its Tuesday broadcast, “CBS Evening News” caught up with Graham, who offered an explanation for her reaction to her son’s actions.

“He gave me eye contact and at that point, you know, not even thinking about cameras or anything like that,” she said. “That’s my only son and at the end of the day I don’t want him to be a Freddie Gray.”
