NBC Military Analyst: McCain ‘Absolutely Right’ That There’s No ISIS Strategy

NBC News Military Analyst Col. Jack Jacobs, Ret. agreed with Sen John McCain’s (R-AZ) assessment that there is no strategy against ISIS, although he took a different position on the solution on Monday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “The Rundown with Jose Diaz-Balart.”

After hearing McCain’s declaration that there isn’t an ISIS strategy, Jacobs stated, “There is no strategy, he’s absolutely right about that, but the solution is not necessarily to increase the number of forward air controllers we have. One of the things we have to remember is that air power, like all air support, like all fire support, is only good insofar as it’s protecting and assisting troops on the ground, who then have to seize and hold terrain. It’s not enough to just bomb the bad guys. you’ve got to hold onto the objective, that can’t only be done by air power, no matter how many forward air controllers you controlling the air, Ayman.”
