Peter King: De Blasio No-Show at NYC Hillary Event a ‘Knife in the Back’

Monday on “The Joe Piscopo Show” on New York City’s AM 970, Rep. Peter King (R-NY) discussed New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, the former campaign manager for Hillary’s successful Senate run in 2000, not attending Clinton’s official campaign relaunch in Roosevelt Island and said it was a “knife to her back.”

King speculated Mayor de Blasio might be looking at jumping into the presidential race if Hillary seems weak.

“I think Bill de Blasio really thinks he has a chance, if there is a stalemate, if Hillary collapses,” King said. “If people are not going to take Bernie Sanders seriously, why not take the mayor of New York City seriously?”

He concluded, “If I were Hillary, I would feel a little bit of a knife in the back there because she and Bill Clinton did an awful lot to move Bill de Blasio along.”
