Rick Perry: The American People Don’t Trust President Obama

Friday on Newsmax TV’s “The Steve Malzberg Show,” former Gov. Rick Perry (R-TX), a candidate for the 2016 GOP presidential nomination,, discussed the Republicans supporting President Barack Obama getting fast track negotiating ability for his Trans Pacific Partnership trade deal and said he would not give power to “this president” because he does not “trust him.”

Rick Perry said, “This president hasn’t been the most trustworthy when it comes to being transparent with the American people. I’m a very pro economic development, pro free trade governor. I believe that America can complete with anybody in the world if you have a level playing field. This ability to put a trade act in place that is transparent so that Congress and the American people know what’s in it is very important.”

He added, “I have a hard time giving this president the right to negotiate for us. I don’t trust him and I don’t think the American people trust him.”
