Jindal: ‘The Left Wants Our First Amendment Rights’

On Monday’s “Special Report” on the Fox News Channel, Gov. Bobby Jindal (R-LA), a 2016 Republican presidential hopeful, sounded off on recent Supreme Court decisions and expressed his frustration with some Republicans in Washington, D.C. that were dismissing those decisions for political reasons.

According to Jindal, the decision on same-sex marriage in particular opens the door to an attack on religious liberty next.

“Here’s where the next fight is and it’s not coming — it’s here, it’s about religious liberty,” Jindal said. “Already Christian businesses are facing discrimination. If they don’t want to participate in wedding ceremonies that violate their sincerely held beliefs.”

“We need to stand up for our First Amendment rights,” he added. “The court trumped our 10th Amendment rights by overturning states’ decisions. Now the left wants our First Amendment rights.”
