Kareem Abdul-Jabbar: Sharia Law Does Not Condone Killing, Rape — ‘That’s Crazy’

This week on “Sunday Morning Futures” on the Fox News Channel, host Maria Bartiromo discussed comments by Dr. Ben Carson, which he said he does not think a Muslim should be president with NBA Hall-of-Famer Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

Abdul-Jabbar said Sharia law does not condone rape or murder.

Bartiroma said, “We know that Sharia law means killing homosexuals, women are subserviant to men. Tell me about Sharia Law.”

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar replied, “Islam does not OK the things that you just mentioned, killing people, rape, all of these things that have been associated now with Sharia law. That’s crazy. None of the people that have that criticism of Sharia law have checked out the law because it’s not even for non-Muslims. Sharia law is for ruling an Islamic state. So Sharia law could never apply here in America because America is a very diverse place.  They got it all wrong. They dont know what the law states actually. They want to distort it to make Muslims the villain.”
