Mika Brzezinski: 9/11 Rhetoric ‘Could Really Hurt Trump’

On Tuesday’s “Morning Joe,” show co-host Mika Brzezinski warned that if Republican presidential front-runner continues to claim he watched celebrations of the Sept. 11, 2001 terror attacks, it could damage his candidacy.

Brzezinski said the claim could be “disruptive” to his campaign and could be his undoing in the end.

“I’ll tell you what I think – I think this is what could really hurt Trump,” Brzezinski said. “He’s got to be smart and strong and correct. And if he’s not correct and when push comes to shove people will coalesce around a different candidate.”

“I’m just saying – I mean, if you look at Ben Carson’s drop, it’s when people started seeing when he knew nothing about what he was talking about in terms of foreign policy,” she added. “And in the age of terror and in the age of so many different problems that we’re facing around the world, this could be – everyone wonders what could stop Trump. I don’t think anyone can stop him except for him. And I think this could damaging if he does more like this.”
